Cruise Club Leader Information
|
||||||||||||
| Thank you for choosing Palm Island Marina for your cruising destination. Through our past experience with the large number of clubs that have enjoyed our facilities, we have established a few guidelines that allow us to provide your club with professional service. Please allow us to serve you in the best possible manner by following these guidelines. Because of the effort you (as the cruise leader) are putting forth, you and your club will be rewarded by receiving a discounted dockage rate of $1.90 per foot each night. This rate includes cable TV, electricity, water, $3.00 per person round-trip passage on the Pirate’s Taxi ferry to Rum Bay Restaurant and liberty on the private beach. PRE-ARRIVAL: 1. As the designated cruise leader, you will be the only person contacting the dockmasters at Palm Island Marina. Any additions, cancellations, changes, or questions will be directed through you. Under no circumstances should your cruise members phone the Palm Island Marina dockmasters directly. Simply put, we do this to protect the integrity of your clubif your members start calling us and changing your plans, you will lose control of your cruise. 2. Reservations for each member will be processed from the information provided on the attached Cruise Club Information Sheet. It is the cruise leader’s responsibility to provide accurate and legible information on this form and return it to Palm Island Marina by mail or fax using the contact information provided below. Please use our Cruise Club Information Sheet and do not provide us with any substitutes. 3. Each member of your club will be required to provide a deposit for one night’s stay. This deposit will be in the form of a credit card charge and the credit card number is to be provided on the Cruise Club Information Sheet. Slips will not be confirmed until a deposit is received, and you, as the leader, are responsible for attaining the deposit information to pass on to Palm Island Marina. Any boat not confirming their slip with a credit card, will not be guaranteed of a slip upon their arrival. 4. The Cruise Club Information Sheet needs to be completed in its entirety. Please do not leave any fields blank on this form. All information is important to us in order to process your reservation, assign each boat to an appropriate slip, and make each boat’s check-in process as quick as possible. 5. We require a one night’s stay deposit on credit card to lock and guarantee each of the slips for you and your members. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy should something prevent you or your members from visiting. Palm Island Marina needs to be informed of any reservation cancellations by the cruise leader at least 24 hours prior to the morning of your arrival. Credit card deposits will be fully refunded with a 24-hour notice of cancellation. Lack of cancellation notification will result in a forfeit of deposit. 6. Please be sure to put any special requests (starboard/port side to the dock, handicapped access, etc.) a boat has on the Cruise Club Information Sheet. Slip assignments are made prior to your arrival, and if we are unaware of special requests then your cruise members may be disappointed with their assigned slips. Arriving at Palm Island Marina: 1. We monitor channel 16 on the VHF. Upon your approach to the marina, please hail Palm Island Marina on channel 16. We will switch you off to our normal working channel of 14. If your cruise club is currently monitoring another channel, let us know and we will switch to your club’s working channel. 2. Because of the configuration of our marina, it is imperative that only one boat enters the marina at a time. Our dockmasters will call each boat into the harbor and we respectfully request that all other boats wait outside our marina entrance. Please be aware of normal Intracoastal Waterway traffic while you are waiting, and be sure to stay out of path of the car-ferry that goes to Palm Island. 3. Once you are given a dock assignment by a dockmaster, you may then enter the marina and proceed to your slip where a dockmaster will help you tie up. 4. Please instruct your cruise members to have all 5 of their dock lines out and tied to their boat before they come to their assigned slip. If every member has their lines out and prepared, we can bring your cruise club in quickly and efficiently and drastically cut down your waiting time for entry into the marina.
